Parent/caregivers who wish their children to carry a phone for safety and/or emergency purposes should abide by, and ask their children to abide by, the following guidelines:
Students using their mobile phone or device without permission are in breach of the school policy.
Mobile phones should not be accessed during the school day.
- Staff will confiscate the student’s mobile phone or device and hand into Student Services and an entry in the Student Discipline section of the Learning Management System will be recorded. The student will be able to collect the phone at the end of the school day depending on the level of misuse. Students who fail to comply with this Policy will be referred to the relevant Year Coordinator or Leader of Learning for possible disciplinary actions.
- If it is necessary for a parent/caregiver to contact the school during school hours, the parent/caregiver is to call the Student Services Office with the message which will be conveyed to the student.
- If it is necessary for the student to contact the parent/caregiver while at school they are to go to Student Services Office or a member of the Welfare Team to seek permission to make the phone call.
- No responsibility will be accepted by the College for the loss of, or theft of, a digital device.
